Coaching and Workshops
Coaching
Coaching is different from traditional psychotherapy. My coaching services are usually sought after by professionals wanting specific and immediate results. The focus on coaching is personal or professional development. This differs from traditional psychotherapy in that, if there is a mental health concern or emotional distress is present, coaching is not the appropriate intervention for you. As a licensed professional regulated by the State of Texas, I would make any mental health concern the focus of treatment. So, in this case, we would not be a good fit for coaching. The type of client I see for coaching has moved on from traditional psychotherapy and is focused on a specific area of life and is not interested in delving deep into past issues. The majority of people I see for coaching are professionals, self-employed, artists, or someone who is focused on a particular matter depending on their season of life. I will let you know immediately upon consultation if we are a good fit for coaching. If not, I can provide you with the appropriate referrals.
Workshops
Workshops are an intensive educational experience where I teach specific skills or techniques designed to address a particular topic or need and will interact with you to apply knowledge. Usually, this service is conducted on a mental health topic in the form of training or targeting a specific population for the purposes of prevention and education. I enjoy providing this service to other mental health professionals wanting to learn more about a specific intervention and paraprofessionals serving populations where mental health awareness is important in their occupational role.
